If you are able to board an international flight with your service dog or pet, you will have no problem traveling within Japan.

If you wish to experience the traditional Japanese culture of large public baths where many people enter together, it may be possible if you have caregivers of the same gender who can assist you. You will need to get out of your wheelchair at the entrance to the changing rooms.
Another way to enter the onsen is to reserve a private bath for an hour and family members of the opposite gender can also assist you.
There are also hotels and Ryokan that have a private onsen in your room.
It is important to note that most large Japanese bathhouses do not accept tattoos. If you have tattoos, it is better to reserve a private bath or a Ryokan with a private onsen in your room.

Because Japan is long from north to south, the cherry blossom and autumn leaves season differs in each region and at different altitudes.
In Tokyo, the cherry blossom season is generally from late March to early April, and the autumn leaves from late October to early December, which is almost the same in Kyoto.
